“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old.
I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds.
Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? You are the God
who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.
You with your arm redeemed your people, the children of Jacob and Joseph.”
Psalm 77:11-14
As I described last Sunday, I recently spent the day at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky with my wife and in-laws. It was such an great time contemplating the greatness of the Lord seeing a representation of his perfect plan from the beginning of creation. Since then, I have been thinking of the vastness of his creation. We were reminded in the planetarium of the museum that even the things we can see through the largest of telescopes and modern technology only begin to scratch the surface of all the Lord has created. Our minds cannot even begin to comprehend all that the Most High spoke into existence. To say that all of this is a wonder seems to be an extreme understatement!
This is where the gospel begins. Many unknowingly neglect to acknowledge God as Creator when telling the gospel story. This is a mistake we should try to avoid at all cost. After all, if we miss this truth, we will most likely miss the true reason why God created man. We were created to proclaim the glory of the Lord and praise His holy name. We tend to place all of our focus on God’s love for man (an amazingly beautiful and humbling fact), and we forget the ultimate purpose of salvation: the glory of the Lord.
We must remember this in all stages of our life. The excerpt above comes from a lament psalm of Asaph’s. If you were to only read the verses above, you probably would not even know these words were in the middle of a lament. We must mirror Asaph here and always meditate on the wonders of the Lord in all circumstances. He is the Creator. He alone is worthy of praise.

Lord of all creation, Of water, earth, and sky;
The heavens are Your tabernacle, Glory to the Lord on High!
God of wonders, beyond our galaxy, You are holy, holy;
The universe declares Your majesty, You are holy, holy.
Lord of heaven and earth, Lord of heaven and earth.
Early in the morning, I will celebrate the light;
And as I stumble through the darkness, I will call Your name by night.
God of wonders, beyond our galaxy, You are holy, holy;
The universe declares Your majesty, You are holy, holy.
Lord of heaven and earth, Lord of heaven and earth.
God of wonders, beyond our galaxy, You are holy, holy;
The universe declares Your majesty, You are holy, holy.
Lord of heaven and earth, Lord of heaven and earth.
